    Scrubs, a Prom Dress, and a One-of-a-Kind Senior

    Scrubs are something that my seniors sometimes wear, and I love that they think to include them in their wardrobe! Morgan works at the hospital, so scrubs were a no-brainer for one of her outfits. Did you know that you can wear as many outfits as you want for your senior session? It’s true. Though I do recommend my seniors wear four to five total to make for more picture-taking time.

    I’ve known Morgan and her family for over seven years now, and they are amazing! Morgan is a one-of-a-kind senior, and her fun personality made for a seriously fun photo session.

    She chose Bay City and the Chippewa Nature Center for her two locations, and the vibes were perfect for her. Bay City has quickly become a favorite location for my seniors. I love this place! Downtown Midland has its charms, but Bay City has some really unique and fun locations that are one-of-a-kind, just like Morgan.

    Scrubs and a Prom Dress in Bay City

    So yes, we started in Bay City with Morgan in her red scrubs. If you’re going to wear scrubs, red is an excellent color. Morgan brought everything she had to this session, and I LOVE when my seniors can just let loose and have a good time. This always makes for the best and most authentic expressions.

    After the pictures with her scrubs, she got changed into a prom dress. I’ve done several prom dress photo shoots, and they are my favorite!!! (here is Anna’s, here is Lilly’s, and here is Saige’s). Morgan is so stunning in her dress, and those shots are some of my favorites from her session.

    The Chippewa Nature Center

    Next, we headed over to the Chippewa Nature Center, and we had some gorgeous light there. I love the mauve dress she wore! As the sun started going down, we found a little patch of light and made the most of it. This session was in my top two or three of the whole year. The last picture at the end of this post if perhaps my favorite from Morgan’s session. 🙂

  • Soccer Sweetheart Senior Session

    Soccer Sweetheart Senior Session

    Soccer is quite possibly the most popular sport here in Midland, Michigan. Why is that? I mean, aside from being an awesome sport. I remember when my family and I were getting ready to move to Michigan and were looking at houses to buy. We were house hunting on Mother’s Day weekend and passed soccer fields that were completely packed. Our realtor said that was the big weekend of the year for soccer here, and now I wonder if Maddy happened to be on that field all those years ago.

    Maddy is incredibly sweet, patient, and so, so calm and chill. Chill senior sessions are the best senior sessions. Although her favorite thing in the world does not happen to be getting her picture taken, she really did a great job humoring me and following directions. Oh, and she also just happens to be so beautiful.

    Dow Gardens is perhaps one of my most popular locations for senior sessions, and for good reason. How many cities can boast a place like this? We started there for Maddy’s session, and we had beautiful sunshine and lovely weather for her entire shoot.

    Soccer

    Yes, she does play soccer, and although I’ve never seen her in action, I’m willing to bet she’s amazing. 🙂 We grabbed a few shots with her in her uniform and with her soccer ball, and after a few pictures in the Children’s Garden, we made our way to the Nature Center.

    The white dress has been extremely popular this year, and I love that! White is such a great, neutral color on everyone, and it helps the seniors stand out when they wear it. My favorite pictures of the whole session are the ones with Maddy in her long-sleeved blue shirt. So, so gorgeous. Though the ones at the very end in a sun dress could rival those.

By creating this atmosphere, she was able to capture true Maddy smiles. Love the results and enjoyed working with this kind, talented professional.”

    Greek Goddess Senior Session

    Greek goddess is exactly what I thought of when I saw Lydia in her last outfit. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that my kids and I were learning about Greek Mythology in home school that week. Did you guys know that I home school my four young kids? We are in our second year of doing so, and we all absolutely love it. It certainly keeps me busy, but I am grateful to have the opportunity.

    Lydia, Greek goddess or not, was stunning and so much fun. We started out at Dow Gardens and found some delightful little spots I haven’t shot much at before. Look at her gorgeous green eyes when you get to a close up picture. They are so unique and stunning, and I loved photographing them.

    We left Dow Gardens and headed over to my favorite spot – Chippewa Nature Center. I seriously love that place! Lydia was willing to get into the water there, and the result was stunning. That picture of her looking out of the camera with her profile? One of my favorites EVER. So beautiful.

    And then at the end she got into her Greek goddess dress, and you guys, she was stunning. The white dress paired with the field of flowers at the nature center is a photographer’s dream. I love the pictures especially with her holding the wild flowers we picked. And that flower behind her ear was the perfect touch to those shots.

  • Sweet and Smoky Senior Session

    Sweet and Smoky Senior Session

    Sweet is exactly how I would describe Rachel. She is SUCH a sweetheart. And she’s fun, down to earth, beautiful, and kind. Did I mention photogenic? Yeah, she’s that too. She made my job as her photographer incredibly easy.

    We started at Dow Gardens for the first location. We only got a tiny bit of sunshine for her whole shoot, and as much as I love the sun, there are so many advantages to shooting a senior session on an overcast day.

    It seems that white has been the “color” this year for my seniors. Whether it’s a sweet white dress or a blouse, it’s very much “in” right now. And as a photographer, I love that! White makes a great reflector in senior pictures.

    One of the best perks of my job is getting to know both my senior and her parents. Rachel’s mom and dad both came along to the session, and I truly enjoyed getting to know this sweet and wonderful family.

    After we traipsed around Dow Gardens and had a couple outfit changes, we made our way to the Chippewa Nature Center. That location has the best light. You can’t go wrong with the CNC.

    We finished up her session with a purple smoke bomb. And that purple color surprised us all with how vibrant it was! I love how it showed up so well for this session.

    Roses are Red, and the Tridge Isn’t

    Roses are red, and the Tridge isn’t. Yeah, that’s not the best poem ever, so I guess I better keep my day job. 🙂 With Mackenzie’s session, we did end up visiting the roses at the Rose Garden in Dow Gardens, and we did visit the Tridge. And what a lovely senior session it was.

    We started in Dow Gardens, and Mackenzie wore the cutest romper I think I’ve ever seen. Seniors always want to know what they should wear. My response is something that is colorful and YOU. Black and white are great, skin tones in clothing aren’t great, and please avoid neon. Sunshiney yellow? Absolutely! It’s such a beautiful color on Mackenzie.

    We made our way to the Rose Garden. I can’t say we actually smelled any roses, but they were so beautiful. I learned after the session that Mackenzie’s middle name just happens to be Rose, so I would say it was a perfect fit.

    We also traipsed around the Children’s Garden and then made our way to Downtown Midland. Check out the hat Mackenzie brought to her session! I love the dress that she paired with it.

    And lastly, we ended up on the Tridge. Thankfully we didn’t meet many other people, so it felt like we had it all to ourselves.

    Mackenzie and her mom and I had a blast the whole session, and I loved spending time with them both! This is what her mom said about the experience:

    Eve is one of the most kind individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is extremely professional and wonderful to work with. She is incredibly thorough and really took the time to get to know my daughter, her likes and dislikes, and just general style then tailored the senior session to her. The photos could not have come out any better!!!! Eve truly captured my daughter’s beauty inside and out. We also had an absolute blast during the senior session, lots of laughs and memories that day. Thank you Eve, for so perfectly capturing my daughter as we will cherish these senior photos.

    And this is what Mackenzie said:

    Eve truly is one of a kind! . She not only took amazing photographs, but also made the session so memorable. She is so down to earth, and has a great sense of humor. We had an absolute blast during the senior session, lots of laughs all throughout. I absolutely love how my pictures turned out, they all are so wonderful!
