    Twins Downtown Midland Session

Twins, I’ve found out, are really fun to photograph together. In fact, this is the first twins session I have ever done! Lawrence and Stanton had their senior session together, and it was a blast.

Before we go into this session, I’d like to say how amazing these two are. Here I go: They are amazing. Fun, confident, sweet, polite, easy-going, really great guys. I know them and their family from church, and the whole family is incredible.

We took pictures starting in Downtown Midland, and I just love that they wanted to wear these suits. For my guy clients: Suits make a really excellent outfit choice for one of you options. Don’t be afraid to dress up and clean up a bit for your session. It looks so classy and smart when you do, as modeled here below.

The biggest challenge for me when photographing the twins together was making sure I didn’t do the exact same pose in the exact same location for each guy. I think I did a pretty good job of giving them both variety. Because identical twins really do need their own identity apart from each other, at least sometimes.

Keep on scrolling down to the shots of them in the alley. This spot has become a favorite of mine over the years. I just love the perspective and texture of this location. The shot of them back-to-back is in my top three of the whole session.

Our next stop – the Nature Center. If I could convince every senior to have a session here, at least for one of their locations, I would. Check out the sunburst shots at the end with their friend! Ah, the light there is so magical. And they were great sports when I asked them if they would jump in their suits for me.

This is what Stanton said of their session: “I could not have asked for a better person than Eve to take my senior pictures, and I’m so happy with how my pictures turned out!” Thank you both for a great time! And best of luck as you go to the South Pacific and serve your two-year missions. You’re going to be amazing.

  • What to Bring to Your Senior Photography Session

What to Bring to Your Senior Photography Session

Now that you’ve booked a senior session with me, you may be wondering what to bring to your senior photography session. Am I right? Have no fear! Not only will I be sending you out a client welcome guide, I will also talk here about what you should bring. I want you to be prepared and to feel prepared as well.

First and foremost, don’t forget your outfit changes! Depending on which package you booked, you’ll need between two and six outfits. But here’s the tricky part. For each outfit, please remember to also bring a set of shoes and accessories. Don’t forget that perfect necklace! Or that bracelet or earrings or those sandals. I would hate for you to show up with only one pair of shoes that don’t match all your outfits. No fun.

Next up! Most people have paid for their session in full by the time their senior session takes place. I make payments easy and quick so that you don’t need to worry about it. However, if you have waited to pay the rest of your session off AT your session, be sure to either bring a card or your checkbook.

Another thing you’ll want to bring to your session is anything you want in the photograph. A beloved pet, a musical instrument, something that represents what you’re good at, etc. Bring it all! I love it when my seniors bring things they’re involved in. I would hate for you to leave those cherished things at home.

Last, but not least, bring YOself. Like, show up and be ready to have an awesome time. I will pose you, help you feel comfortable, and will definitely NOT make things awkward. It’s your time to shine! So show up prepared to have a blast, and don’t worry about a thing.

Senior Session With a Harp | Mid-Michigan Photographer

This young man right here gives me so much hope in the rising generation. He is kind, he has a gentle heart, he adores his family, and he is genuine. He has a bright future ahead of him, and I already know that he is going to make a positive difference in the world.  As we were preparing for his photo shoot, his mom asked me if we could take some pictures with Gideon and his harp at the Chippewa Nature Center. I’m pretty sure I did a happy dance right then and there. On the spot. Shamelessly. YASS. Please, please, PLEASE bring your harp! And can you guess which pictures from his whole session ended up being my favorites? You guessed it.

Our session took place on a super hot day of the year. What is with the weather this week?? But we all had a wonderful time, and Gideon’s mom was amazing in helping carry his things and being there supporting her son.  We started out at Dow Gardens, and after taking some great pictures there, we then headed to the Chippewa Nature Center with his harp and a change of clothes. Thanks, Gideon, for an awesome session. You rocked it!

Senior Blond Beauty | Midland Portraits

Meet Nicole. She may be a natural brunette, but I think she pulls blond off super well. She’s fun, she’s sweet, and yes, she’s even a bit sassy. She and I go to the same church together, and she and I are both from a family of eight siblings. Our moms are troopers. 😀 Nicole asked me to take her senior pictures, and I was completely thrilled that she did. As we made plans on where she wanted the shoot to take place and what she wanted to incorporate, I got even MORE excited. I loved all of the things she brought to her shoot. She brought her ukulele, some books (because she loves reading), her viola, and even her track shoes. This blond beauty also brought her mom, and I’m just going to say it right now: MOM’S ARE THE BEST. Go Mom, go! Seriously, if you bring anyone along, bring Mom. They’re so great. They help you to feel comfortable, carry around your crap, and just make things go smoother for your outfit changes. I think that Nicole and I scheduled this shoot on the freaking hottest day of the YEAR. Not of the season (it was fall!), but of the whole entire year. But Nicole handled the heat so well, and I didn’t even have to edit out any sweat. Now that’s a bonus! 😉 We started out at Dow Gardens, then went to downtown, and then we headed to the Chippewa Nature Center. We had a blast! Thanks for an AMAZING session, my dear! I’m so excited to share these with you!
