Tori is my niece. She and her sister, Akasha, flew out here all the way the heck from Utah to help out when my baby was born. She is one of my older brother’s daughters, and I love this girl to pieces. It’s so weird to me to say that my niece is old enough to be a senior and graduate from high school, BUT (and it’s a big but…with only one ‘t’) I have three more nieces older than her. You guys, I’m not old. I swear.
It is weird to remember the day she was born and to know that she is now 17 years old though! I think my favorite thing about taking Tori’s senior pictures is that she LOVED being in them! Seriously, seniors are the best at that. With technology these days (OK, maybe I really AM old) teenagers get used to being in front of the camera since they have them attached to their bodies at all times. I remember when I was in high school trying to weasel my way out of my math homework, and I would say to my teacher, “I’m never even going to use this!” and they would say back, “You will, and you won’t be able to carry a computer in your back pocket”. Well guess what, Teacher?? It’s called a smart phone, and it’s certainly smarter than I ever could have been learning math.
Anyway, back to Tori. She was a natural in front of the camera. We went out together with her sister and my newborn baby boy to Dow Gardens, and the weather was warm, a little bit humid, and absolutely lovely. She favored the candid photos as opposed to the posed ones, and seeing her light up just made my day. We had a blast, and time flew by so fast. Kind of like my life in my old age… 😉
