I got my first senior of the year session under my belt, and it couldn’t have been more fun and wonderful. Let the senior session begin! Meet Ella. I took her sister’s senior pictures last year, and Ella came along for those. Because of this, she knew me and knew a little of what to expect for her session.

Ella wanted her session to take place at two new-to-me locations: City Forest and an apple orchard. I always love shooting at new locations! Because I got so many good ones, I’m splitting her session up into two different parts. We met at City Forest here in Midland first, so we’re starting with those.

Since she was my first senior of the year, I was a little more nervous to start than usual. The truth is, I’m always nervous before a session! I used to think it was a bad thing, but now I know better. I think being nervous shows that I want to do a good job and make sure my clients are happy with their experience. We met at 6:00, and we started shooting soon after. Ella brought her younger sister and wonderful friend, Saige, along. Saige and I did a photoshoot last September. I’m taking her senior pictures in another month. I’m so excited!

Since the sun was still so high, we walked around to find the perfect location. I think we found it.

This girl loves to be barefoot, and I love that so much! She’s a girl after my own heart. Here’s one up on the sled run.

After we wandered around there, we happened upon an awesome pipe or tube of some kind. As soon as we saw it, we both knew we wanted to use it in her photos. Also, look at that amazing smile! I loved it when I got her to laugh for her pictures.

She can also pull off an amazing serious look.

Second Outfit

Ella quickly changed into her second outfit, and boy, what a stunning choice for her location!
